Sarah Mehany, MSW, LSW
Licensed Social Worker/Associate Therapist
Do you feel overwhelmed, stressed, or anxious about adjusting to Motherhood? Are you having difficulty navigating life transitions like parenting, relationships, or IVF? You are not alone. Anxiety, depression, relationships, grief, losses, even positive transitions can become overwhelming making us feel anxious, lost and alone. But I am here to tell you there is hope.
I am a Licensed Social Worker specializing in women and adult issues. In addition, I have a special interest in helping people get "unstuck" and move forward in their life. I help clients work through challenges like anxiety, fear, guilt, grief/loss, negative relationships, loneliness, infertility, family conflicts, caretaking, and parenting. As a mom, I understand the struggle of never feeling like I am “doing” enough. I have worked with many clients who have felt a sense of hopelessness and have worked through their fears, grief/losses, even mom guilt and learned to find peace and purpose again.
My goal is to help you identify negative thoughts that are keeping you stuck and adopt new positive thoughts to move forward through the challenges of your journey. I will listen, provide resources, and support you in developing coping skills to deal with life’s challenges as we rediscover your strengths and build confidence.
I utilized various approaches that are strength-based, solution focused and provide new ways of moving through emotional pain. For example, I often draw from theories such as cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), mindfulness-based stress reduction (MBSR), solution-focused therapy, motivational interviewing, and dialectical behavior therapy (DBT) to name a few. Let’s take this journey together and find a better way today.
